The Portland Police Bureau needs the public’s help locating the suspects and witnesses connected to a violent assault in the Pearl District.

On Saturday, February 24, 2024, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Central Precinct officers responded to reports of an assault in the 900 block of Northwest 13th Avenue. After arriving on scene, officers located an adult male suffering from serious injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he spent more than a week in a coma. The victim is now slowly waking up, but he is still dealing with memory loss and delirium. He remains hospitalized and has a long road ahead of him.

Due to the severity of the assault, the case was assigned to PPB’s Major Crimes Unit. Detectives have determined the victim was likely assaulted by up to three men following a dispute over the make/model of a vintage vehicle that might have been part of a classic car meet-up earlier in the evening.

Detectives need the public’s assistance locating the suspects. They are described as Hispanic or Caucasian males, approximately 30 years of age, 200 to 250 lbs. They may be associated with a vintage Chevy, possibly grey/blue/green in color. Detectives are also looking for a large white truck, with bright blue neon lights, that may be associated with the suspects or witnesses.

Anyone who witnessed the assault, or has information about the incident, is asked to contact Detective Matthew Brown at Matthew.Brown@police.portlandoregon.gov and reference case number 24-46215.
