On Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 7:45a.m., North Precinct Public Safety Support Specialists responded to a report of the theft of a van from the parking lot of a hotel in the 12200 block of North Jantzen Drive. When officers arrived, they learned that the van was left running briefly in the parking lot when a suspect jumped in and drove away. Four terriers were in crates in the van.
The dogs taken have been located and returned to their owners. An alert community member in Vancouver, Washington located the dogs in the van after he found it abandoned on the road.
PPB assisted with the return of the dogs to Portland.
