On Monday, June 13, at 9:20 p.m., Multnomah County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a crash involving a midsize SUV and motorcycle on NE Fairview Parkway near the entrance of the on-ramp to I-84 westbound.
The initial investigation shows the motorcyclist was traveling northbound on NE Fairview Parkway when it collided with the SUV as it was making a left turn to the I-84 westbound on ramp. When deputies arrived, they began life saving efforts, but the injuries were too severe, and the motorcyclist was pronounced dead on scene.
Due to the severity of the crash, the East County Vehicular Crimes Team (VCT) responded to perform the crash investigation.
Based on the preliminary investigation, VCT members believe the speed of the motorcycle was a factor in the crash. The driver of the SUV showed no signs of impairment and is cooperating with the investigation.
The motorcyclist is identified as 24-year-old Maksim Mishuk.
The investigation is ongoing. No further information will be released at this time.
